Thanks for considering a session with me! I’m an on location natural light photographer so all sessions take place either on location or in the comfort of your own home.
MY STYLE:
I enjoy trying to capture the true nature of the people being photographed, and work hard to make a connection with them. I love to catch a true smile, a quick cuddle or hug, and small moments that occur throughout the time that I’m with you. By photographing in an environment that you and your child are familiar with genuine expressions are naturally achieved and the results are timeless portraits. Sessions usually last 1-2 hours and outdoor sessions are typically scheduled in the early morning or late afternoon/evening when the lighting is softer.
NEWBORN SESSIONS:
Newborn sessions take longer, plan on 2-4 hours, and are best in your own home to accomodate feedings, changings and the extreme patience it takes to achieve some of the poses. Newborns are best photographed within the first 2 weeks of life.
CHOOSING A LOCATION:
The location you choose and the clothes you wear will guide the feel of your session and really make your portraits unique and special. I have locations I can suggest to you, which all have their own unique style and feel, but I also love to try new locations and welcome any ideas you have! Your own home can also provide a relaxed and casual atmosphere and an opportunity to capture a number of real life images. Don’t be afraid to step outside the box and try something new with your location and clothing choices. After all, the best images happen when we all kick off our shoes, relax, and just have fun.
WHAT TO WEAR:
Think colors, textures, coordinating colors, and fun accessories to complete that perfect look for your family. Solid colors work best. Keep tones all light / all dark. Lighter clothing is great for outdoors/beach. Darker clothing is usually best in an intimate home seesion. Avoid bold patterns that are distracting from your child’s face. Set aside additonal outfits, toys, hats, or special memorabliia that you would like to incorporate in the shoot. Sundresses, overalls, jeans, and great for toddlers. Bare skin is best for babies! I will also bring some of my own props and blankets.
